Police uncover four Peterborough cannabis factories in four days

Police have uncovered four cannabis factories in Peterborough in the past four days.

The plants seized by officers are estimated to be worth around £221,000.

. On Friday, at around 11pm, the Cambridgeshire police Community Action Team (CAT) shut down a cannabis farm in South Street, Stanground, where there were 98 plants plus a substantial amount of harvested cannabis.

Three men in their 30s - two from Stanground and one from Whittlesey - were arrested and have now been released under investigation.

. On Saturday, response officers shut down a cannabis factory in Langford Road, Fletton, which contained 70 plants. No arrests were made.

. On Sunday, the CAT discovered 76 plants and a significant amount of harvested cannabis in Risby, Bretton. A 19-year-old man was arrested and has been bailed until next month.

. Today (Monday), the CAT received reports of the smell of cannabis coming from a property in Henry Street, Eastfield, where they found 20 plants. Two men, aged 27 and 39, are currently in custody.
