Police search Peterborough property after boy arrested for attempted murder

Police have been searching a property in Orton Goldhay this afternoon after arresting a teenage boy on suspicion of attempted murder.

Officers are in Meriton after arresting the 17-year-old on Saturday following an incident involving a man in his 30s in Orton Malborne.

The man was found in Blackmead with multiple stab wounds, but police said it is “not yet clear where exactly the assault took place”.

The victim was said to be in a serious but stable condition in hospital, while the boy is currently in custody.

A Cambridgeshire police spokeswoman said: “Officers are carrying out searches at an address in Meriton, Orton Golday, following the arrest of a 17-year-old boy in connection with the attempted murder of a man in his 30s in Orton Malborne on Saturday (May 9).

“The 17-year-old remains in custody at Thorpe Wood Police Station.”
