The Dispersal Notice will support the Police to remove or reduce the likelihood of members of the public being harassed, alarmed or distressed, or removing or reducing the likelihood of crime and disorder occurring in the locality.

The power will therefore enable Officers to require a person who has committed, or is likely to commit anti-social behavior, to leave the Meadows and not return within a specific time.

A person given a notice who fails to comply with it commits an offence.

The area of the Meadows also falls under a Public Space Protection Order.
