Police link midnight car fire to ram raid of Peterborough shop

Police have linked a car fire in the early hours of Friday morning (January 16) to a ram raid of a shop just minutes before.

At just after 2am on Friday morning, ram raiders hit the Costcutter store on St George’s Road in Wittering, leaving a giant hole in the wall.

Less then 15 minutes after police were called to that incident, the emergency services were again called to a car fire on the A1, close to Wittering. Initial investigations have found the cause of the fire to be deliberate.
