Police find stolen BMW in Peterborough street a year after it was taken

Police have recovered a vehicle that was stolen over a year ago in a Peterborough street.

The silver BMW was reported stolen in February last year and was finally recovered by officers in St Martin’s Street on Wednesday (February 24).

A statement from Cambridgeshire Police on Facebook said: “A few weeks ago an officer spotted a vehicle that looked out of place. After some initial enquiries the recovery was authorised and today we have finally managed to examine the vehicle. It transpires it is an outstanding stolen vehicle from February last year.

“Enquires are ongoing with the respective force and forensic officers, A powerful stolen BMW M5 off the street.

“Anyone know how it got to St Martins Street, Peterborough? Get in touch, incident reference: CC-10022021-0464.”
