Police disperse ‘large group’ playing football on Peterborough pitch

Police dispersed a “large group of people” playing football in Peterborough on Monday.

Officers were called on Monday to the sports pitches at Bushfield in Orton Goldhay where the group were playing.

A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said: “Police were called at 6.06pm to reports of a large group of people playing football at the Orton Centre, Peterborough.

“Officers attended and the group dispersed.”

No fines are believed to have been handed out.

From today, unlimited exercise is allowed and sports such as golf and tennis can now be played, albeit with restrictions.

However, football is not allowed to be played.
