Police were called to a Peterborough street after residents reported seeing a woman and a teenager with a knife.

Police were called to reports of violence in Appleyard, Stanground at about 6.30pm last night (Tuesday).

A police spokesman said: “Witnesses reported seeing a woman and teenager with a knife at the location. Officers arrived on scene but the pair had left the area.

“An investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Anyone with any information is urged to report online at www.cambs.police.uk/report or call 101, quoting crime reference 35/46514/20.”
