Police appeal after car set on fire near Peterborough

Police are investigating after a car was set on fire in a village close to Peterborough.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue said: “At 2.03am on Monday (28) a crew from Wisbech was called to a fire on Park Lane in Leverington.

“Firefighters arrived to find a car on fire. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and returned to their station by 3.15am.

“The cause of the fire was deliberate. Anyone with information should contact police by visiting www.cambs.police.uk to submit an online report or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”

The appeal comes after two similar incidents were reported in Peterborough over the Christmas period, both of which were deliberate and the Police are also appealing for information about.
