A high speed train driver had to slam on the emergency brakes after spotting children on the lines yesterday.

Now parents are being urged to keep their children safe.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “We have seen an increase in children playing on the railway between Hampton and Fletton area of Peterborough. Today an LNER service had to apply its emergency brakes due to 4 children being on the tracks. Do you know where your children are playing?”
