Neighbourhood Watch not only provides residents an opportunity to benefit their communities by making them safer, but also enables people to feel more united and part of their neighbourhood, sometimes even offering vital support.

Residents can choose to either just join or to become a street coordinator.

Councillor Irene Walsh, Cabinet Member for Communities, said: “I am delighted to be working together on strengthening the Neighbourhood Watch network. It has such an important part to play in our society. One of the issues that was discussed was street litter. I was pleased to be told that equipment and insurance for local litter picks can be provided through NHW.”
