Police have urged residents not to order fish and chips for a homeless man in Peterborough.

A police spokesman said on social media that the man, at the Bretton Centre, had run up ‘a huge bill’ at the chip shop.

The spokesman said: “Dear members of the public,

“Please be weary that there is homeless male in Bretton Centre, Bretton, Peterborough. He is approaching members of the public asking for food, persuading them to go into FRYZ fish and chips, ordering food and running up a high bill. He is described a tall person, black beard, half of his teeth missing and very loud.

“If he approaches please do not let him persuade you into FRYZ and please call 101 or 999.”
