Police across the region have received a number of reports of the scam - which normally involves a text message or phone call.

A spokesman for the force said: "We’re still receiving worrying reports of fraudsters sending text messages claiming to be from the NHS and stating the recipient must pay for their Covid vaccine.

"Covid vaccines are free and this is a scam."
