Peterborough murder investigation post mortem ‘inconclusive’

The post mortem of a man found dead at a Peterborough property was ‘inconclusive,’ Cambridgeshire police have said.

Police were called to a property at The Crescent, Orton Longueville on Saturday after receiving reports from the East of England Ambulance Service that a man, aged in his 30s, had died at the address.

One man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the case, but police said the death was being treated as ‘unexplained’.

Yesterday a post mortem examination took place at Peterborough City Hospital.

A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said: “The postmortem was inconclusive and we’re awaiting toxicology results in five weeks’ time.”

A 38-year-old man from Peterborough was arrested on suspicion of murder and has since been bailed until 26 June.
