Peterborough men charged over violent incident involving Samurai Sword

Two men have been charged in connection with a violent incident in Peterborough on Sunday (19 July).

Rees Mucklin, 22, and Reuben Eyles, 21, were arrested on Sunday night following an incident in Eastfield Road which left two men in hospital with slash wounds to their heads.

Mucklin, of Pittneys in Paston, has been charged with affray and possession of a blade in a public place, namely a samurai sword.

Eyles, of Swallowfield in Werrington, has also been charged with affray and possession of a blade in a public place, namely a samurai sword, as well as two counts of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent.

Another 21-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident however he has since been released from police custody under investigation.

The injuries to both victims were not deemed to be life-threatening.

Both men have been remanded in custody to appear at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Wednesday 22 July).
