Peterborough men arrested after hoax fire call

Two men from Peterborough have been arrested on suspicion of making multiple hoax calls to the emergency services.

Cambridgeshire police said it was called at 1.16pm on Sunday to reports of a fire in Fen View, Stanground.

A police spokeswoman said: “Officers and the fire service attended the scene, however, on arrival it was established the report was a hoax.

“Two men, aged 55 and 38 from Peterborough, were arrested on suspicion of causing a public nuisance in relation to multiple hoax calls made to emergency services throughout the day.

“They have since been bailed to return to a police station on June 15.”
