A man who took a motorbike before being caught riding it while more than twice over the drink drive limit has been jailed.

Leonard Duvall took the Honda bike on February 24 this year.

Later that day he was caught on St Paul’s Road riding the bike with no insurance and no licence.

He also gave a breathalyzer reading of 78 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 mililitres of breath - the legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Duvall (23) of Beechwood Close, Peterborough, pleaded guilty to drink driving, driving otherwise in accordance with a licence, driving with no insurance and taking a vehicle without consent at a hearing at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on March 29.

He was jailed for four months, with magistrates saying the offences were aggravated by his previous record of offending. He was also banned from the roads for 22 months.
