Peterborough man seriously injured in gang attack at city park

A man was seriously injured in a robbery in a Peterborough park last night.

The man, aged in his 50s, was attacked by a group of men at Orton Mere at about 9.45pm.

A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said: “A man in his 50s was attacked by a group of men and his bike was stolen. He was taken to hospital where his injuries are thought to be serious but not life-threatening.

“As part of the investigation, a footbridge in the area was cordoned off but this has since reopened.

“No arrests have been made and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward by calling 101 and quoting incident 402 of 14 May or report online at: www.cambs.police.uk/report.”
