Peterborough man knocked to floor by moped-riding robber

A man was knocked to the ground outside his own home by a moped-riding robber.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was alerted to a man on a black moped outside his property in Glebe Road, Fletton, at about 5pm on Thursday (1 April).

As the victim approached, the suspect rode towards him and knocked him over before taking his mobile phone.

The victim was not seriously injured and when he got up, the suspect returned the phone after taking £30 cash and a lottery ticket from within the case.

The suspect was described as wearing a black motorbike helmet and a white jacket.

Detective Constable Tess Munro said: “This robbery took place in daylight on a busy street and we believe other people may have seen him behaving anti-socially in the area. We would urge anyone who may have seen him, or witnessed the incident, to get in touch.”
