Peterborough man jailed for 'continually breaching restraining order'

A man who continually breached a restraining order has been jailed, police have said/

Cambridgeshire Police said Curtis Saunderson, 44, was handed the restraining order in December, banning him from contacting his ex-girlfriend and visiting her home in Peterborough until May 2027.

A spokesperson for the force said: “However, between 21 April and 19 May, Saunderson breached the order by making multiple attempts to contact the victim by phone and turned up at her house on different occasions.

“During one of these visits, Saunderson was caught on a video doorbell using a concrete tile to break the victim’s front windows.

“He was arrested in Bretton on 20 May and charged with criminal damage and five counts of harassment – breach of restraining order.”

Police said Saunderson, of no fixed address, was jailed for 56 weeks and ordered to pay £250 in compensation after admitting the offences at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on Friday (22 May).

This included the activation of a six-week suspended sentence he received for theft offences in April.

Detective Sergeant Louis Scott said: “Saunderson’s relentless attempts to contact the victim showed his disregard for the previous court orders.

“I would like thank the victim for her ongoing cooperation and bravery for reporting this harassment.”
