Peterborough man fighting for his life after suffering brain injury and skull fractures in assault in city street

A Peterborough man has suffered a brain injury and multiple skull fractures in an assault in a city street.

Concerned members of the public called police at 10pm on Tuesday to report a man lying unconscious on the ground in Crawthorne Road, Eastfield, Peterborough.

The man was rushed to hospital and found to have several skull fractures and a bleed on the brain.

Detective Inspector Nick Stubbs said: “This was a particularly nasty assault, which left the victim in critical condition, fighting for his life.

“We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area around the time of the assault, or who may know who is responsible.

“I would also urge anyone in the area who may have CCTV or a doorbell camera facing the street to get in contact and help us identify whoever is responsible.”
