Peterborough man due in court over drug offences

A Peterborough man will appear in court today (Friday) charged with drug offences.

Shoaib Shafique, 21, of Clarence Road, Peterborough, has been charged with two counts of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply after he was arrested yesterday.

Shafique was arrested in Springfield Road, Millfield, after officers found 55 wraps of crack cocaine and 84 wraps of heroin.

A police spokesman Shafique and another man were arrested yesterday after a vehicle did not stop when asked to by officers in Peterborough.

The second man, aged 21, has been released under investigation.
