Peterborough man due in court charged with burglary and bike theft

A Peterborough man is due in court today charged with a number of offences including burglary and bike theft.

Leon McPherson, 41, was arrested by neighbourhood officers in Taverners Road on Tuesday afternoon in connection with a burglary in Alexandra Road on 5 June.

He has since been charged with burglary including theft of a toaster, kettle, knife set, bridal jewellery, coffee machine, saucepans, cereal dispenser and electronic salt and pepper mills.

He has also been charged with theft of a bicycle from Cromwell Road on 20 June and escaping lawful custody on 13 July.

McPherson, of St. Michael’s Gate in Parnwell, has been remanded in custody to appear at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court today.
