Peterborough man charged with theft of £1,700 bike in city centre

A Peterborough man has been charged with stealing a bike worth more than £1,700 in the city centre.

Josh Lavell (29) was due at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court today charged with the theft, which is said to have happened in Long Causeway on April 29.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesman said: “Yesterday afternoon, our Neighbourhood Support Team arrested a man, 29, from Peterborough in connection with the theft of an electric bicycle worth more than £1,700. He has since been charged and remanded in custody to appear at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court today.”
