Peterborough man charged with bike thefts

A man from Peterborough is due in court today charged with stealing five bicycles and a car.

David Barry, 45, was arrested yesterday morning (Tuesday 16 June) in connection with the theft of bicycles from outside Sainsbury’s in Oxney Road, outside Asda in Rivergate and Avonside House in Fletton Quays.

He has since been charged with two counts of theft of a pedal cycle, theft of a motor vehicle and two counts of non-dwelling burglary with theft of a pedal cycle.

Barry, of Towler Street, has been remanded in custody to appear at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday 17 June).
