Peterborough man arrested after knife-point robbery in park

A man has been arrested after a knife-point robbery in a Peterborough park on Tuesday (April 6).

The incident happened shortly before 9pm on Tuesday night as the victim was riding an electric scooter in Bretton Park.

In an online post, the victim then stated that they were approached by two men who were shouting at him, with one producing a 10inch knife and holding it to his face demanding he handed over the scooter.

In fear of his life, he handed over the scooter and fortunately was then looked after by a passer-by who looked after him until the Police arrived to take a statement.

Police have confirmed that a 22-year-old man was arrested in relation to the incident and has now been bailed to appear at Thorpe Wood Police Station next month,

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police said: “We were called yesterday (April 6) at 8.49pm to reports of a robbery in Bretton Park, Peterborough.

“Officers attended and a 22-year-old man from Peterborough was arrested on suspicion of robbery.

“He has been bailed to attend Thorpe Wood Police Station on 5 May (2021).”
