Peterborough drug dealing duo avoid jail after cocaine, ketamine and cannabis found

Patryk Medrala and David Crunkhorn given unpaid work orders following police raid on Eastfield home

A drug dealing duo from Peterborough have been spared prison but ordered to carry out unpaid work.

Police carried out a warrant at a house in Ward Close, Eastfield, on 24 June 2022, where they found Patryk Medrala, 27, inside.

While officers were carrying out a search of the property, David Crunkhorn, 28, returned.

In one of the bedrooms, they found four bags of white powder which was later confirmed to be cocaine and ketamine worth up to about £925, nine bags of cannabis worth up to about £345, six mobile phones and several sets of digital scales.

Both men were arrested and interviewed, where Crunkhorn claimed the drugs were his and for personal use, and Medrala denied any involvement.

The pair were released from custody under investigation, and analysis of the mobile phones uncovered messages relating to the supply of drugs.

The pair admitted charges of possession of cocaine (a class A drug) and ketamine (a class B drug), as well as two counts of being concerned in the supply of a class B drug (ketamine and cannabis).

They appeared at Peterborough Crown Court last week where Medrala, of Ward Close, Eastfield, was sentenced to 11 months in prison, suspended for 18 months, ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work and made subject of a curfew between 5pm and 12am for the next six months. He must also complete a 20-day Rehabilitation Activity Requirement.

Crunkhorn, of Northumberland Avenue, Stamford, Lincolnshire, must carry out 80 hours of unpaid work, complete a 10-day Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and pay a £200 fine.

Detective Constable Andrew Donaldson, who investigated, said: “We know that drug dealing in this neighbourhood is a concern for the community – we are listening to those concerns and gathering information which helps us obtain warrants at court, allowing us to enter and search people’s homes.

“I would urge the public to continue reporting information to us, so we can take action.”
