Peterborough drink driver given suspended sentence as nine motorists given bans

Peterborough drink and drug drivers have been banned from the roads in a series of court hearings.

In the space of three days, nine drivers appeared at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court in connection with driving under the influence.

Arturs Stepanovs (36) of Cromwell Court, Peterborough was given a suspended jail sentence after he was caught drink driving in October last year.

On March 9 Stepanovs appeared in front of magistrates, where he admitted a string of offences.
The court heard he was stopped on October 18 on the Fletton Parkway, and gave a breathalyser reading of 77 microgrammes (ugs) in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35ugs.

He also admitted driving the Renault Scenic with no insurance, driving while disqualified, obstructing a police constable and failing to surrender to custody.

He was given a nine week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and ordered to carry out 100 hours unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £122, costs of £85, and was banned from driving for 48 months.

On March 12 Lisa Francis (39) of St Felix Road, Ramsey, was banned from driving for two years after admitting drink driving.
She was caught on February 23 driving a Renault Clio on Blenheim Way, Ramsey. She gave a reading of 97ugs in 100ml of breath. Along with the ban, she was fined £230, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32, and costs of £85. Her ban can be reduced by 24 weeks if a drink drive rehabilitation course by 25/7/21.

Giedrius Gapsys (35) of Cromwell Road, Peterborough was ordered to carry out unpaid work after he was stopped.

Gapsys was driving a Mitsubishi on Goffsmill, Peterborough when he was stopped on February 25. He gave a reading of 104ugs in 100ml of breath.

He was ordered to carry out 40 hours of unpaid work, pay a £90 victim surcharge and £85 costs. He was disqualified from driving for 45 months, which can be reduced by 45 weeks if the course is completed by 30/11/22.

Nikita Geraskin (24) of Paston Lane, Peterborough was twice the limit when he was stopped on Viersen Platz on February 22.

He was also driving a Renault Clio, and gave a reading of 70ugs in 100ml of breath.

He was fibed £276, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32, and costs of £85. He was banned from driving for 20 months - which can be reduced by 20 weeks if the course is completed by 25/4/21.

Aiden Hollis (22) of Manor Close, Langtoft, was fined nearly £600 after he was caught drink driving on February 23.

He was driving a BMW 3 series on St Pegas Road when he was stopped, and gave a reading of 50ugs in 100ml of breath.

Hollis was fined £595, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £59 and costs of £85. He was disqualified from driving for 14 months. The ban can be reduced by 14 weeks if the course is completed by 3/12/20.

Caroline Robinson was banned from driving for 14 months after she failed to give a sample of breath.

She was stopped on February 6 in Peterborough. Robinson (54) of Wothorpe Mews, Stamford, was fined £76, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and costs of £85. Her ban can be reduced by 14 weeks if the course is completed by 3/12/20.

Karl Summersgill (35) of Burcroft Road, Wisbech was fined £400 after he was stopped on the A1101 at Wisbech on February 22.

He gave a reading of 74ugs in 100ml of breath.

Along with the fine, he was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £40, costs of £85, and was manned from driving for 18 months. The ban can be reduced by 18 weeks if the course is completed by 9/3/21.

Sergiu Terceanu (57) of Badgeney Road, March, was more than twice the limit when he was topped near his home on Badgeney Road.

He was pulled over by police on February 19, and gave a reading of 88ugs in 100ml of breath. He was fined £276, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32, and costs of £85. He was banned from driving for 22 months, which can be reduced by 22 weeks if the course is completed by 11/6/21.

Tanya Crabb (44) of Vixen Close, Yaxley, was nearly three times over the limit when she was caught drink driving in a supermarket car park.

Crabb was stopped on February 24 in the Tesco car park in Whittlesey Road, and gave a reading of 102ugs in 100ml of breath.

She was fined £120, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and costs of £85, and banned from driving for 26 months. The disqualification can be reduced by 26 weeks if the course is completed by 11/9/21.
