Paedophile who asked Peterborough schoolgirl to send him naked pictures jailed

Leo Holmes, 26 and of no fixed address, messaged the girl in August 2019 through a social media app.
He asked for naked or topless photos, urging her not to tell anyone. The police only became involved when the young girl confided in a family member.

Hide AdWhen confronted, Holmes denied sending the messages and claimed his account had been hacked.
He was arrested but refused to be interviewed or answer any questions.
However, he was later served a postal requisition charging him with engaging in sexual communication with a child.
Holmes pleaded guilty at a previous hearing and was jailed for a year at Peterborough Crown Court today (29 July).

Hide AdHe was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years and made the subject of a restraining order for the same timeframe, preventing him from contacting his victim.
In addition, Holmes was handed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for 10 years to monitor his future behaviour.
DC Helen Keighley, who investigated, said: “Holmes spoke completely inappropriately to a young girl and his behaviour was disgraceful.
“I would encourage parents and their children to take time to consider their online and messenger app use and review their knowledge and security.”
