Officer ‘bitten by drunk man’ at Peterborough Station

An officer with the British Transport Police was allegedly bitten by a man at Peterborough Station.

The 31-year-old was arrested on Sunday at the station for allegedly being drunk and disorderly.

He then proceeded to bite an officer on the arm, it is alleged.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “British Transport Police were called to Peterborough railway station at 12.47pm on Sunday, January 3 following reports of a drunk and disorderly man.

“Officers attended and a man was subsequently arrested.”

The man from Stockton-on-Tees has since been charged with being drunk and disorderly and assault of an emergency worker.

He has been released on bail until his next court appearance.
