Nearly two assaults a day on emergency workers in Peterborough and Cambridgeshire

In total, there were 54 reported incidents last month, Cambridgeshire police said.

The force said: “Although we have seen so many acts of kindness throughout this pandemic, there’s still a small percentage of people who are mistreating those working around the clock to keep the country safe.

“Thank you to those who continue to show their support to essential workers during this difficult time, we are truly grateful.”
