MURDER PROBE: Police make two further arrests following death of Huntingdon man
Police have arrested two further people as part of their investigation into the murder of a man in Huntingdon.
Detectives from Cambridgeshire Police launched a murder investigation after Hamid Tawaab, 59, was found unconscious at his flat in Fern Court on January 20, this year.

He was pronounced dead a short time later with his death initially being treated as suspicious. A forensic post-mortem later prompted police to treat his death as a murder.
In an update on Wednesday (December 10), a force spokesperson said: “A 43-year-old man and 28-year-old woman, both from Huntingdon, were arrested on suspicion of murder and have been released on bail.
“There have been four arrests in total, all have been released on bail while investigations continue.”
Speaking earlier this year when the murder investigation was launched, Detective Inspector Verity McCann, from the Beds, Cambs and Herts major crime unit, said: “We are appealing for anyone with information to come forward, particularly if you live in or around Fern Court in Huntingdon and recall seeing or hearing anything suspicious at the time.
“I understand this is likely to be concerning for the local community, but we believe it to be an isolated incident and are working tirelessly to find out what happened.”
The family of Mr Tawaab, also known as Michael Vidale, released a statement in tribute to him, which reads: “He was an incredibly intelligent and likeable person with a cheeky smile, an infectious laugh, and a passion for cricket.
“He was a father, grandfather, brother and uncle and we are deeply shocked and saddened by his loss and the horrific circumstances around his death.
“He is greatly missed, and we hope that he is at peace.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact police online or via 101, quoting Op Perugia as the reference, or ask to speak with DI McCann.
