Masked men disturbed by elderly homeowner during attempted burglary

Four men were disturbed trying to break into the outbuilding of a house in Duddington last week.

The victim disturbed the men outside his home at some point between 7pm and 9pm on Tuesday, 2 February.

He opened his front door after hearing a noise outside and found the offenders trying to access an outbuilding.

Instead of fleeing the scene the offenders then entered the house via the front door and searched inside. They then left the house.

Nothing was taken from inside the property and the elderly man who lives in the house wasn’t injured in the incident.

The offenders were all wearing masks, one of which had white stripes down the side. One was about 5ft 8ins and sounded like he had a young voice.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have any information regarding it.
