Man pleads not guilty to Wisbech murder

A man has denied murdering a woman in Wisbech in an appearance at court.

Steven Stocks, 43, from Wisbech appeared at Peterborough Crown Court yesterday (June 10) for a plea and case management hearing.

Tribute has been paid to Laraine Maria Rayner, 52, of Mill Road in Wisbech.

Stocks pleaded not guilty to the murder of Laraine Rayner, but guilty to preventing her lawful and decent burial.

A provisional trial date has been set for October 17 at Cambridge Crown Court.

The body of Mrs Rayner was found in a property in Mill Road, Wisbech on April 24.
