Man in critical condition after incident at Peterborough house

Police were called yesterday (28 April) at 11.37pm to reports of an attempted burglary at an address in Eastleigh Road, Peterborough in which four men were seen forcing their way into a property with weapons.

Officers attended and a man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He was taken to Thorpe Wood Police Station where he remains in custody. A man in his 20s was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He remains in a critical but stable condition.

Officers are treating this as an isolated incident and remain at the scene, with scenes of crime officers spotted outside collecting evidence this morning. The investigation is ongoing.
