A man has been charged following a robbery at a Peterborough petrol station.

Police were called at 2.20pm on Saturday (8 August) to reports of a robbery at a petrol station on Carr Road in Peterborough. The suspect, a man, entered the premises and cigarettes, tobacco and a quantity of cash was stolen. No-one was injured in the incident.

A man in his 30s was subsequently arrested in Padholme Road at about 3pm on suspicion of robbery and possession of class C drugs.

Liam Tristram (31) of no fixed abode, has since been charged with robbery and assault of an emergency worker and appeared at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
