Man attacked with metal poles on Peterborough Embankment
Police were called just after midnight today (27 July) with reports of violence on the Embankment in Peterborough.
A man was sat outside a tent when he was approached by three men, armed with metal poles, and hit repeatedly.

Hide AdOfficers arrived on scene, together with paramedics. The man suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries, and has been taken to hospital.
The incident is believed to be isolated and officers currently remain on scene while further investigations are carried out, including enquiries to locate the three men.
A police spokesman said no descriptions of the men were available at this time.
