Man arrested following A1 crash which left two police officers injured

A man has been arrested following a collision on the A1 which left two police officers injured.

A 37-year-old man from the Suffolk area has been arrested in connection with the collision on the A1 Colsterworth on November 25.

At 11.20am a marked police vehicle was dealing with a report of a broken-down HGV on the A1. A second HGV collided with the police vehicle, which resulted in the A1 at Colsterworth being closed in both directions for some time.

Two officers were injured and taken to hospital. They have since been discharged.

A Lincolnshire police spokesman said: "We continue to investigate this collision and we would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this incident or any motorists with dashcam footage.

"The two injured officers have now been discharged from hospital. We would like to thank everyone who sent our officers’ get well wishes."

The arrested man has been released under investigation.
