Juries to return to Peterborough Crown Court
Jury trials are set to begin again at Peterborough Crown Court following lockdown.
While the court has remained open over the past few months, jury trials have not taken place due to concerns about social distancing. Hearings held at Peterborough Crown Court have included plea and case management, sentencings and pre-trial reviews, with many taking place via video link, with judges, defendants and barristers not in the court building itself.
The Peterborough court is one of 16 to re-open for juries today, Cambridge Crown Court, which regularly hears Peterborough cases, is also on the list.
