Huntingdon murder: £20,000 reward offered following death of grandfather in town
A £20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the conviction of a murderer who killed a grandfather in Huntingdon.
Hamid ‘Mick’ Tawaab was 59 years old when he was found unresponsive in his flat in Fern Court on the evening of Monday 20 January 2025. He sadly passed away shortly afterwards.
A post-mortem report later confirmed that Mick had died from blunt force trauma to his head, chest and abdomen. Police have since declared the case a murder investigation.
Detectives believe Mick was assaulted sometime between the morning of Sunday 19 January and the evening of Monday 20 January.

During this timeframe, several people are known to have visited Mick’s flat, which was covered by CCTV.
A 17-year-old boy and a 35-year-old woman have both been arrested on suspicion of murder. They have been released on bail.
Officers are urging anyone with knowledge of what happened to contact Crimestoppers anonymously.
Annabelle Goodenough, South East Regional manager at the charity Crimestoppers said: “Hamid ‘Mick’ Tawaab was a much-loved man whose life was cruelly taken. The family of Mr Tawaab paid tribute to him following his death.

“He was a father, grandfather, brother and uncle and we are deeply shocked and saddened by his loss and the horrific circumstances around his death.
“He is greatly missed, and we hope that he is at peace.”
