At 11.12am today (22 July), an ANPR alert on the northbound carriageway of the A1 at St Neots alerted officers to a vehicle containing a man who was believed to be wanted by another force on suspicion of a number of theft related offences.

When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it made off.

A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said: “The car was pursued throughout Peterborough city centre, with assistance from the National Police Air Service.

“However, despite best efforts, the car was not stopped.

“Efforts to re-locate the vehicle in the area came to no avail.”
