Ferry Meadows visitors warned over parking charges text scam

Visitors to Peterborough’s Nene Park – including the popular Ferry Meadows – are being warned about scam text messages giving fake warnings over parking payments.

Nene Park Trust said they had been made aware of the messages sent out, saying that visitors still owed money for parking.

Now the trust has moved to assure residents that the messages are a scam.

A spokesperson for the trust said: “We’ve been made aware of a small number of scam messages being sent to Park visitors after their visit, claiming that a parking payment is still outstanding. Please be assured that we would never contact you in this way.

“Scams like this are happening across the country, so please do share with your family and friends to help keep everyone safe.”
