Drug dealer caught on CCTV selling cocaine in Peterborough city centre

A man has been jailed after he was caught on CCTV dealing drugs in Peterborough city centre, police have said.

Cambridgeshire Police said CCTV operators alerted officers after they spotted Ciaran Graham, 34, in Cathedral Square on 21 April.

Police said Graham ran away as officers arrived, but he was stopped later in Eastfield Road and searched.

Officers found two mobile phones, about £80 in cash, a metal spoon in his sock, and eight wraps of crack cocaine.

After being arrested, Graham admitted he had swallowed a further four wraps of crack cocaine and was taken to Peterborough City Hospital.

Officers also uncovered evidence of further involvement in drug supply across Peterborough on Graham’s phone.

At Huntingdon Law Courts, Graham, of London Road, Peterborough, was jailed for two years and four months after admitting to possession with intent to supply cocaine.

DC Joshua Crown, who investigated, said: “This is an excellent example of how collaborative working and intelligence can lead directly to the seizure of drugs heading out into our communities.

“We remain committed to disrupting drug dealing across Cambridgeshire and will take action against those supplying illegal substances.”

Anyone with information concerning drug dealing can report it online to Cambridgeshire Constabulary, or Crimestoppers anonymously.
