Drink and drug drivers banned from roads by Peterborough magistrates

Drink and drug drivers have been banned from the roads after appearing in front of magistrates at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court.

Damian Skowronski (32) of The Whaddons, Huntingdon, was caught driving at twice the legal drink drive limit on Lincoln Road in Peterborough on March 16 this year.

After officers pulled his Vauxhall Corsa over he gave a breathalyzer reading of 71 microgrammes (ugs) of alcohol in 100 millilitres (ml) of breath. The legal limit is 35s ugs.

Skowronski pleaded guilty to drink driving, and was fined £353, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £35 and costs of £105, and was disqualified from driving for 20 months. His disqualification can be reduced by 20 weeks if he completes a drink drive rehabilitation course by June 7 next year.

Jade Snell (33) of Dogsthorpe Road, Peterborough pleaded guilty to drink driving after being caught driving a Renault Clio in Parnwell Way in December.

She gave a reading of 49ugs in 100ml of breath on December 17.

Snell was fined £80, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34, costs of £105, and was disqualified from driving for 12 months. The ban can be reduced by 13 weeks if the course is completed by November 24 this year.

Anatolijs Bojarovs (42) of Robingoodfellows Lane in March was caught more than three times over the limit on March 16.

He was driving a Volkswagen when he was stopped by police on Elwyn Road - and later gave a reading of 108ugs in 100ml of breath.

Bojarovs pleaded guilty to drink driving, and was fined £400, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £40 and costs of £105, and was banned from the roads for 26 months. the ban can be reduced by 26 weeks if the course is completed by October 25 next year.

Andrew Carr (51) of Lynn Road, Downham Market was caught drink driving in a Volvo on Gull Road, Guyhirn on March 16.

He gave a reading of 60ugs in 100ml of breath, and pleaded guilty to drink driving.

He was fined £100, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £105. He was also banned from driving for 16 months - the ban can be reduced by 16 weeks if the course is completed by March 5 next year.

Elonas Vilmas was banned from driving for a year after he pleaded guilty to drug driving.

Vilmas (21) of Bruce Close, Wisbech, was stopped on Weasenham Lane in a Mini Cooper on September 18 last year, and tested positive for benzoylecgonine.

He was also fined £100, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and £105 costs.

Danny Rooney (26) of Small Lode, Upwell, was also caught drug driving in September last year.

Rooney was driving a Ford Transit when he was stopped on Ranmoith Road, Wisbech on September 5.

He tested positive for cannabis and benzoylecgonine.

He pleaded guilty to two counts of drug driving, and was banned from the roads for two years. He was also ordered to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work, and pay a victim surcharge of £95 and costs of £105.

Kelly Vaughan (31) of Lake Close, March, was caught drink driving in February this year.

Vaughan was driving a Ford Focus on March Road, Friday Bridge on February 11 when she was stopped. She gave a reading of 46ugs in 100ml of breath.

Vaughan pleaded guilty to drink driving, and also to an assault, also on February 11.

She was ordered to take part in a Mental Health Treatment Requirement for 12 months, and a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement for 15 days. She was also banned from the roads for 16 months - the ban can be reduced by 16 weeks if the course is completed by March 8 next year. She was given a costs bill of £105, and ordered to pay £100 compensation to the assault victim.
