Coronavirus poll: Should police fine Peterborough residents breaking social distancing rules?

Police across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire are currently enforcing rules on social distancing which are designed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Patrols have been taking place across Peterborough with people who have left their homes without a good reason, or if they are gathering in groups, being given a stern word of warning by officers. However, despite having powers to issue fines and to make arrests, so far Cambridgeshire police have been reluctant to use them, with the force stating that they are a “last resort”. Now, the Peterborough Telegraph wants to find out from its readers in our poll below whether you agree with this stance, or if tougher action should be taken.
