CCTV appeal to trace Renault Megane and men launched a week after Peterborough attack left man fighting for his life

Police have launched a CCTV appeal to trace men they want to speak to in connection with an assault in Peterborough which left a man fighting for his life.

Members of the public called police at 10pm on Tuesday, 4 May, with reports of a man unconscious in Crawthorne Road, Eastfield, Peterborough.

The man was rushed to hospital and found to have several skull fractures and a bleed on the brain. He currently remains in a stable condition.

Officers have now released new images of two cars and two men they would like to speak to in connection with the attack.

Detective Inspector Nick Stubbs said: “This was a nasty assault, which initially left the victim fighting for his life.

“We know from CCTV footage that the road was really busy at the time of the incident and dozens of cars drove past and some members of the public stopped to help.

“I would urge any witnesses, or anyone with information, to get in touch if they haven’t done so already.

“The Reanult Megane that is pictured also appears to have quite distinctive alloy wheels which members of the public may remember.”
