CCTV appeal after Peterborough shopkeeper attacked and threatened in robbery

Police have launched a CCTV appeal after a shopkeeper was attacked and threatened in robbery in Peterborough.

The victim, aged in his 50s, was stacking shelves at First Stop, in South Street, Stanground, Peterborough, at about 6.40pm on Friday (23 July) when two men entered.

One grabbed the victim and pushed him back into shelves, while the other went behind the counter and grabbed bottles of spirits and scratch cards before both made off.

The shopkeeper gave chase and the bottles of alcohol were dropped and smashed on the floor. One robber put his hand around the victim’s neck and threatened to return and smash the shop windows.

Both made off again and police were called.
