Car gets stuck in tree after police chase

Officers believe they got to the root of a crime in Huntingdon last night after a car they were following ended up becoming stuck in a tree.

Three people were arrested after the incident in Church Lane involving officers from the BCH Roads Policing Unit who had been tracking down a suspected stolen BMW.

The arrests were made after three people inside the car fled the scene.

It was discovered that the car was being used with fake plates.

The suspects were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and going equipped for theft, while one of the three was also arrested for failing to stop, driving while under the influence of drink or drugs, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.

All three men have now been released under investigation.
