It was announced on Thursday that charges against Stephen Yaxley-Lennon - better known as Tommy Robinson - of assault by beating were dropped and the case dismissed because of a lack of evidence.

Yaxley-Lennon, 33, of Bedfordshire, had been accused of assaulting a man at HMP Peterborough in July last year.

After the case he called it a “stitch up” and thanked people for their support.
