Armed teens nab sweets from Peterborough off licence after failed till robbery

Teenagers armed with knives attempted to rob a till at an off licence in Peterborough - but only ended up with a few bags of sweets.

The robbery took place in Everdon Way, Westwood, shortly before 2pm on Saturday.

Two boys have since been arrested.

A Cambridgeshire police spokesperson said: “It was reported that three teens entered the store, armed with a knife, and attempted, but failed, to take the till.

“The three men left, stealing a few bags of sweets.

“Two boys, aged 16 and 15 from Peterborough, were arrested shortly after on suspicion of robbery and taken to Thorpe Wood Police Station.

“They have since been bailed to attend Thorpe Wood Police Station on June 4.”
