WATCH: Dangerous BMW driver who rammed police car and crashed into his own fence is jailed
A man who drove dangerously in a bid to escape police before ramming their car and crashing into his own fence has been jailed.
Cambridgeshire Police said Aaron Readman, 28, was reported driving his blue BMW erratically in Stanground, Peterborough, at about 7.30pm on Saturday 6 December.
A force spokesperson said: “However, officers intercepted him about an hour later near his home in Hardwick and he made off, clocking up to 85mph in a 60mph zone, ignoring hazards, and occasionally braking harshly.
"The pursuit ended when Readman rammed the front of the police car before driving away.

"Officers found the BMW crashed into a fence at Readman’s home in The Pastures and found him hiding in a shed nearby.
“He was arrested and failed a roadside breath test, which showed him to be more than twice the legal limit. Readman pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving without a licence, driving without insurance, drink driving and failing to provide a specimen for analysis at Cambridge Crown Court on Thursday (12 March). He was sentenced to 13 months in prison and disqualified from driving for three years and six months.
PC Ben Patten, who investigated, said: “Readman drove extremely dangerously, hit speeds well above the legal limit, and rammed a police vehicle. “His actions demonstrated a complete disregard for the law and safety of others. Thanks to the swift response by officers, he was arrested and has now been held accountable for his actions.”
